A Press Association telegram states that Mr R. L. Jellicoe, of Mastenrton, has passed the examination in bookkeeping and account auditing (elemental y) at the University Commercial Examinations. Mr L. McMaster, also of Masterton, has gained a certificate of proficiency in bookkeeping. . Mr,H. R. Wood, who is sub-man-ager at Baamevirke for Messrs l)algety and.Ooi, Ltd., is to take a similar position at Napier, and Mr R. C. Napier, the accourit-ant at" Danaevirke, 13 to take up the accountant's position at Napier. Mr P. Hockley, the accountant at Napier, is,to take up the sub-managership afc<,^>an.nevirke/: ! and Mr C.'Somerville, from the Hastings office, will be the new accountant at ! Damievirke. Bennett, who has j been in charge of the Wellington branch of Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. j since the retirement of Mr James Macintosh in August, 1910, has now been permanently appointed to the position. The territory controlled from Wellington includes the provincial districts of'Taramaki, Wanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, and Nelson. -Mr E. S. Richards, for many years caretaker of the. Masterton Reading Room, has-tendered his resignation, to the Borough, Council. Pendray, Minister in, charge of the Eketahuna Methodist Circuit, will relinquish his charge in April next. Miss Brown, is at present acting as relieving teacher at the Eketahuaa school. Mr W. N. Tregonning, posrtmaster at Eketahuriia, is away from his duties on annual leave. Mr Oeo. Boagey, of Masterton, is tjhe :relievnng officer. 'The Prime Minister was to have passed through Masterton by motor car, on. his return to Wellington, yesterday afternoon. According to the Hawke's Bay Tribune, Mr C. Ball, the ex-member for Waipawa, is contemplating a trip to the Old Country. In a letter to a friend in Masterton, Mr Stallworthy, ex-M.P. for Kaipara, states that he is happily engaged just now on his dairy farmland he has no intention of rohirning to politics.
