MR J. T. M. HORNSBY.
The announcement that Mr J. /T. M. Hornsby has decided to leave the Waii-arapa will be received •with widespread regret by a. large section.' of the coinmrunity. - We have eon sistent■]y opposed Mr 'ELomsby im politics, because we lmve ■ regarded the co'ntiniuamce in power of the party . wiihi which lie was associated; as inimical ibo tiie .best interests of the country. •We-have not failed to recognise in v thim, however, a gentleman of very great ability, both.as a journalist and a politician, and we feel sure that has' ireturn to the editorial dhair will ''(lend strength to the party which he represents. During the time he was I in Parliament he did a great deal for the Wairarapa district, and we have no doubt that his services in this connectiaw will not be allowed to pa&s unrecognised.
