IMMIGRATION.
One of the first measures which will probaMy be introduced by the Massey Government will have reference , to the immigration policy. At the present time we are blunging hundreds totf men and, women to the country without any guarantee of employment other than'that given by an irresponsible official at the other end. The consequence is 'that' immigrant* are ibrought to New Zealand at the wrong seasons of the year, and of a class •who go largely to swell the ranks of the unemployed in the cities. This is not as it should he. There is room in. the country for hundreds of young men land women of the right sort; but some means should be devised for their absorption immediately upon their arrival.
