Sir McKenzie Powell, w&o was Premier of the Canadian Parliament in 1894-95, addressing a meeting at Belleville, said Canada had rejected reciprocity with the United States because she was doing so well financially. , He predicted that the Dominion would soon equal the United . fit-ates in wealth and population; then all talk of possible annexation would disappear.
