THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH^ WONDERFUL RECORD OE SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH -MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor C.vcle Club's sports held on the Hastings _ Racecourse on Boxing XXny, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes, the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds-, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven event®. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is> consiQered iJlia t the Triumphs bad to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braitliwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier recvrd—viz.. Slirs 35m?n., established by Mr H. L. SchaeftVr on New Year's Day, 1900, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines', this record has' stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Rratohwaite left the Wellington Pos>t Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Fear's Day, a«Ki arrived at tie Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being Ghrs. 38inin., lowering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph run perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take, in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the fmest material procurable that can average 33'- miles an hour over 2.30 mil©s» of .New Zeailland roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish couTd not; help but remark on tihe perfect con- ] dition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
