MASTERTON FIRE BOARD
QUARTERLY MEETING. The adjourned quarterly meeting of the Masterton Fire Board- was held yesterday, at 1.30 p.m. Present, — Messrs 0. N. C. Pragnell (chairman), R. M. Simpson, C : . R. Smith, R. J. Willite, J. C. Ewingt<. n and J. P. Prentke. The report of the local committee with regard to the -Morris enquiry was adopted. ' The Cihristehfii-rch Ifire Board wrote, Suggesting the holding of a conference of Fire Boards in Wellington before tlie 31 st March. .Particulars. I were also, sent of a case of a claim for damages against the Christohurch Fire Board, resulting from a ccllis'ion .■ cn which they had appealed...-but lost the appeal. Vr tmmgton moved, and M,r White :.seconded, that this 1 Board ■agree? to a conference of Fire Boards being held to discuss .matters of general interest, and to ,be held, at a date to be fixed, and to send repre-. ■sentatives. ~ Tlie Superintendent's report wias read., and it-was decided• to send a copy to the Masterton : Borough Council. A -report was read from Inspector T. Hugo, of Wellington. • , The remainder!of the Superintend- • report has been referred to th 6 local committee to report upon, with recommendations.
