WAIPOUA SALE YARDS
OPENING SALE. Tho n<'\v auctioneering firm 'of Messrs .James .Macintosh and Co. held their opening sale at the Waipoua ■yards, Masterton, yesterday. There was a good attendance of buvers, and bidding throughout the wile was spirited. Mr Frank -Evans, the firm's auctioneer, before beginning the sale, made a few introductory remarks. Re expressed pleasure ab seeing <- many present'at their initial sale, and considered it happy augury for the future. Ho trusted the firm wont 1 receive the support of vendors and buyere, and tihese would find the firm satisfactory in every way. The following trices were realised :—Fat ewes. 12s 4d to 12s lOd; forward ewes lis Id to 12s; fat. lambs, to 12s 6d; fat and forward lambs, lis Id to lis lid ; fat wethers. 14s 3d to 14s 6d; forward wethers, lis to 12s 4d; store lambs, fit for stubble, 7s 3d to 8s 4d. , Cattle :—.'s-year-old iempty heifers, to. £4-4s; fafc a.nd for'wd'eows, £3 15s'to,£4 os; fat.caws. £4 15s to £5 10s; 15-months steers, £3 to £3 Bs, yearling heifers, £2 7s 6d to £2 12s 6d; pigs and porkers brought 20s eadh.
