THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES OK TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor, Cycle Club's sports hekL'on tlie Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes- the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven event-s. This performance is all the more remarkable when it fs> consiQered Übat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first ma-ch-ines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr. J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make am attempt on. the existing, figures of the Wellington- to Napier record—vix., Shirs 85imki., csfcablisihed by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a- Triumph. In spite of several atttempts on other makes of machines, this record ba-s- stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Bratihwiai/te left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, amd. arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., Ms ■ time being Slavs. 38min., Towering the previous record 'by nearly trwo hours. The Triumph run .perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the fiiiest material - procurable that can average 33;} miles ao'hour over 230 miles of New Zeaflland roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the; finish eouKL not iherjp but remark on ; tihe perfect condition of the nuwhin© at the finish. The Triumph is not'only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for (hard work and long wear, and ifc perfectly adapted *o New Zealand roads.
