THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. VotNiDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES- ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle CSub's sports lield on tihe Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board, (hit of an entry of 12 machines' representing 5 different, makes the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven, events. This performance is all the_ more remarkable when it is> con&iflered ■tfhat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateua' riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Rraithwaite left for Wellington on his' Triumph motor cycle to make a.n, attempt oai the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier retard—via.,. Bbrs 35m'iii., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, Also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, Mi is record has' stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Dratliwaite left the Wellington Posit Office. at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6hrs. SSmin.., Toweling tlie previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only' two stops' being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made f>rom tire finest material procurable that oan. average 33* miles an hour over 230 milesi of New Zealllaud roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish ooulcl not ■help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at tlie finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed.
