THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, idle Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes the Triumphs secured ten. firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds oust of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is confiiflered tfliat the Triumphs luad to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of tlie ten first machines werxw-idden by amateur-riders. On SatWhiVj December 30th, Mr J. L. Braith.wa.ite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt om the existing figures of tire Wellington, .to Napier record—viz., Bhrs 3om«i., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffor on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In, spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for thiree years. Mr Erathwaite left the Wellington Posit Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Day, axM arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m.. his time being Gbrs. 38mm., Towering the previous record by nearly .two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to fiimth, the only two stops being to take in. petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from t'he finest material procurable that cam. average 33£ miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zeailland roads. Those who were at , the Napier Post Office at thie finish ooulH not iielp bnt remark on the perfect condition of tlie machine at the finish. The Triumpli is mot only made for speed. It has proved itself to be tlie machine (hard work and long wear, and is perfectly to New Zealand roads.
