THE REPUBLICAN GOVERNMENT HIGH OFFICERS OPPOSE ABDICATION. (Received' Last Night, 9.40 o'clock.) " PEKIN, January 22. Dr. Sun Yat Sen telegraphed Xuan Shin Kai that he was opposed to the creation of a provisional Government or the inclusion of Yuan Shih Kai in tho Republican Government, until the Powers..recognised the latter. ■ Dr. Sun Yat Son desires, when the throne is abdicated, to transfer his authority to the Republican Government. Tioh Sing, the late Tartar General at Nanking, has been, intriguing with the Manchus for the downfall of Yuan Shih Kai, who as preparing to take flight. The younger Monchu princes are urged to take drastic action against the' Revolutionaries. Yuan Shih Kai regards the Manchus cause as lost, but thi-fc that in view of the Revolutionaries' objection to a provisional Government at Pelrin, it is advisable to establish the Government provissaonally at Tientsin, after the abdication of the throne. Thirty nine officers of the Guard* refused to endorse the abdication nolicy, and threaten to unloose troops in the event of abdication. Foreigners are greatly c -armed, and the Americans are fbakang refuge in the Legation quarter. Rumours are current, accusing the Princes of conniving at the recent attempt on Yuan Shih Kai. The RepubUcans -have,-lfcpded troops at several points along the coast.
