THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON -TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports held on tlhe Hastings Racer course on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out. of an entry of' 12 machines representing 5 di'irorenit makes* -the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seyen seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events.. " *" This performance is all the more remarkable when it is considered tfliat the Triumphs had to concede llarge handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten firs* machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph' motor cycle to make an attempt on, the'existing figures of the Wellington to Napier record—viz., Bhrs 3ormiii., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In. spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph, for'three years. Mr Brathwaite left the Wellington Posit Office at 4.20 a.m.' on New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., Shis time being 6hrs. 38mi,n., Towering the previous record 'by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only.two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It iis only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that oan. average 33J miles- an hour over 230 mile® of New ZeaHland roads. _ Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish could not help but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
