Mr Holman opposed the handing ' over of domestic commerce, but he favoured giving the Commonwealth power to deal protection, industrial arbitration, and the nationalisation or control of inter-State monopolies. If the States permitted international monopolies they should "stew in their own, gravy." The discussion w-as adjourned until ■ Mr Holman'6 draft Bill could be circulated.
