THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. i WONDERFUL RECORD OF SDC-1 CESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the TLB. Motor Cycle Club's sports held on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines- representing 5 different makes, the Triumphs secured ten. firsts, seven seconds, and -1 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is con&iflered lib at the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and six of the ten- first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt on, the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier record—viz., Rhrs 35m*-n., established by Mr H. L. SehaeflVr on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a Triumph. In. spite of several attempts on .other makes of machines, this record has stood to the credit of the Triumph for three vears. Mr Rrathwaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. on New Year's Dav, and arrived at the Napier Tost Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6h<rs. 38min., Towering the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only 'perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that oan average 33-J- miles an hour over 230 miles of New Zeailiand roads. _ Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish could not help hut remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is not only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for hard work and long wear, and is perfectly to New Zealand roads. We oan deliver both fixed aui free engine models from stock, and- would be pleased to give trial runs to intending purchasers at a 111 times. 70UK3ST MOTOR CO., LTD., Sole Agents for Triumph and B.S.A.
