Clark one at 1.23 p.m., Ridding one at 4.23, one at 1.59; telegram, no signature, one a.t 4.13, .). 11. dark one at (5.48. As well as. tlie ordinary prizes tlie handsome- shield presented by several Palmeratnn residents was competed for. - This shield has to bo won twice before ic becomes .personal ■property. J. Dixon, Masterton, is the winner this year, his bird making a flight of 1305 yards per minute. Mr Edwards was second and third, his birds making 1293 yards each per minute. A. Clarke, Wellington, holds fourth place, with 1273 yards per minute. The time occupied by Mr Dixon's "Ginger Ale," which won the race, was 101 hours, which is 3i hours quicker than the best time previously put up by a Masterton bird.
