Eight persons were killed and four injiired. CAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION. (Received Last Night, 10.10 o'clock.) BERLIN, January 17. The explosion is attributed to a portion of the molten iron ore becoming set in. the upper portion of; the furnace, forming a vacuum sufficient to burst the.furnace. Eight men were instantly engulfed by a torrent of metal. ' Others are missing, and are believed to be beneath the ruins of the furnace.
