STATUS NOT IRRETRIEVABLY LOST AMENDMENT NOT RATIFIED. (Received 'This Morning, 1 o'clock.) ADELAIDE, January 17. The Treasurer of the Victoraan Swimming Association, who is vasiting Adelaide, declares that Beaurepaire has not irretrievably lost has amateur status, as an amendment to -the constitution affecting position has hot been ratified. (A recent cable stated that Beaurepaire was not permitted to start in an amateur race, owing to las having accepted a fee for teaching children to swim.)
