FANNING ISLAND
(By TeUgraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. Mir J. D. -Henry, the oil expert, pavs that Fanning Island was sold by Father Rugier to a well-known British naval ship-building firm, with the approval of the Government. The lagoon is to be converted into a deepirater harbour, with a good anchorage, and used as a naval coaling station. Father Rugier is now bo mid for England to complete negotiations.
