I vailed in many parte on, Saturday and , Sunday, with strong and equally westerly and northerly wands, 'wliioh changed to southerly on Sunday with •a risiing barometer. Tihe weather has t since, improved generally, , and the winds have backeu to westerly and northerly again in many parts, strong to gale in the Southern districts today, where the barometer lias fallen again-. Present indications are for a falling barometer and increasing northerly and westerly winds, strong to gale soutfhwards of New Plymouth and Oastlepoint. Warm and hazy weather wall probably prevail, but clioudiaiess' will increase in and southwards of Oook Strait, for a ■ low pressure, nvhicli is due shortly, and wshieh is likely to (bring unsettled weather lin these parts, especially on the West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island.
