METHODIST UNION.
The conference held by the Primitive Methodist body in Chiristchurch last week was the most important gathering of its kind held for many years, by reason of 'flie fact that it practically decided, the momentous question tof a union of the Methodist Churches of the Dohilinaon. This union has ibean ; mutually sought for quite _ a coirsiderable time, but almost lflsui'mountable obstacles have presented themselves.; These'have been overcome, until the time seems ripe {• r the fina- step. The severance of tno Methodist Church from Australasian control will igo a long way ■■ towards facilitating. -what., appears .to be an eminently desirable unison.
