THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OF SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At. the H.B. Motor Cycle Club's sports Jheid on the Hastings # Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again., practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes the Triumphs secured ten. firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the ; more remarkable when it is> con&iflered tlhat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and 'six of the ten. firs* machines were ridden by amateur rider®. On Saturday, December 30th, Mr. J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to pake am attempt out the existing figures of the Wellington to Napier record — viz., Bhrs 3onniin., established by Mi 1 H. L. Schaeffer on New Year's Day, 1909, also on a. Triumph. In, spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has stood to the* credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Bra'tiraaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. an New Year's 1 "Day, t and arrived at the Napier Post Office' at 10.57 a.m., has time being Gbrs. 38min.., Towertng the previous record hy nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take iii petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can. average 33£ miles am hour over 230 mile® of New Zeaflland roads. Those who were at the Napier Post Office at the finish could not iherp but remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph is mot only made for speed'.
