On December 26tih, there passed away, at the advanced age of 82 years, .another of CanteTibiiry's old settlers in the person of Mr Charles Storey...'-The deceased gentleman, who was born at Little Stukelv. Huntingdonshire, England, came to New Zealand in 1866 witih Mrs Storey .in the ihm '. .'. well-: known and popular Aip Mermaid.

He recently engaged in fruit farming at Havelock. Mr TV. G. GoUld, secretary of the Hawke's Bay Fruitgrowers' Association, is a ibrother of the deceased. Consumption was the cause of death.

A communication from the \Vairara.pa Hospital Boacrd in legard to the matter was received at yesterday's meeting of the Palmerston Board, and it was decided to ask that Mr McMinn he sent to Palmerston for examination.

Ltd., who has been on a -trip to England, tretm-ned to New Zealand, via Sydney on Wednesday.
