MASTERTON PARK FETE
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
A large meeting of representatives of spora bodies and citiyxms interested in the Mastercon Park Fete, to be •held on February l;t, was lield in the Council G!;aiv.'>ers last night. Has Worship the Mayer (Mr J. M. Coradine) presided. Mr H. F. Green was unanimously elected secretary to the general committee, .
Mr W. Giiller-'pie recommended that a permit bo obtained from the Athletic Union, in order to clear the cash runners from any possibility of being •disqualified. The matter was left in the hands of Mir Gillespie to deal with. MV J. A. McKivon was elected deputy chair man. Those present, numbering eighteen, were appointed a general mmmittee, with power to add to their number.
The following - sub-committees were elected:— Finance and advertising, chairman, deputy chairman, and the chairmen of all" other committees, with Mr R. W. Robson ; Programme Oamimittee, Messrs John Coradine, R. F. Crosbie, E. R. B. Daniel], Jos. Kijm, J. C. Ewington, T. Jenkins, Wm. Morris, J. A. McEwen, J. H. Paul in sr. J:is. Brvor, J. Bradbury, W. Dickson, G. L. Thomas, A. D. Gillies, T. G. Hoar, A. McLeod, J. Georgeson, .1. Candy, W. H. Jackson, W. J. Biggs, W. Gillespie, and A. 0. Leviedi ; Entertainment Committee, Messrs J. W. Black man, R, Brown, J. Candv, W. Cook, Jos. Dixon, J, imiiott" J. C. Ewington, Z. M. Hoar, A. Henderson,, T. Jenkins, W. Muirrav. B. Pickering. G. Sykes, F. W. Temple, T. Wage, Puhara. te T'au. Hcnii 'Taioa. D. Tlireadwell, R. F. Crosbie, O'Brien, G. L. Thomas, W. Candy, and J. H. Pauling; Illuminating Committee, Messrs J. W. Blackmail. J. C. Ewington, B. Pickering, and J. P. Prentice. It was decided to do no active canvassing for trophies, etc. The Mayor and the secretary were appointed joint treasurers. On the motion .of Mr Bradbury, Mir Crosbie was appointed supervisor, and Superintendent .lenkins and Cantain Dixon marshals. A. meeting of the programme committee was held subsequently, when detail business was transacted. The next meeting of the general committee will be held on Friday week.
