COALITION.
The coalition suggestion of the "Age" is being widely criticised. In many quarters it is accepted as the only possible- solution of tiie present poli-1 tical problem. Tlie New Plymouth "News"—a Cfovcrcufflent organ —after puMishing the "Age" article on tihe subject in full, says:—"Our opinion i® that if the moderates of both parties coalesced ia party would arise tfliat- could ihold tJie boards.i'or I years against the most strenuous opposition of the extremists —the Labour on the one side and the Conservative reactionaries 011 tlfo© other. Moreover, we believe that sueli will be the advance and power of tllie Labonj-Sociahstic element that the moderates will eventually 'be driven to join liands with one another, as the moderates of divergent faith, have been in. most parte of Australia during the past few years from precisely the same cause."
