COMMISSIONER AKI) GOVERN*: •MENT. (Received Last Night, 9.10 o'clock.) SYDNEY, January 8. The Railway Commissioner held an interview with the Acting-Premier (tiio Hon. Mr Beeby) with, reference to the proposed eight hours day for railwaymen, and other matters. Mr Beeby subsequently stated that lie wished to re-move tho impression that there was .strained relations between the Government and tlhe Commissioner. He reiterated that the Government Lad no desire to re-establish tihe old political control of the railways. .
