A TRYING EXPERIENCE DEPUTATIONS TO THE CAPTAIN. (Received Lasst Night, 9.10 o'clock.) SYDNEY, January 5. The Ai'jkoy's ways' luave arrived I 'at Sydtney. Describing thei'r trying experience Jfc'hey stated that they had spent five days and nights in open boats, which Were leaking to such an extent that it was ncc«?esary for a man to ba baling continuously. The morning after the Askoy struck they formed a deputation and waited on tlile captain, asking Mm to abandon, the ship. The capfcadni refused, and second and third deputations were treated similarly.
It was not until after noon that orders were given to man the lifeboats.
