LONDON, January 4. The New Zealand Shipping Company has acquired a controlling interest in the Federal Steam Navigation Company. Tho exchange portion of the unified shares are credited as fully paid. The Federal owners Slave promised to hold the dharcs en bloc for a period of years. - Mr Allan Hughes wilt join the New Zealand Board. New Zealand shares have risen from £l7 10s to £lB 10s. The Times states that the amalgamation is the result of the P. and 0. Company's vessels calling at Auckland.
