The Prime Minister a,rrived in town to-day from Wellington., and spent the morning at Warner's Hotel, cfecussing the politica!!' situation witlh local members' of Parliament belonging, to his party. Those who hod audience with Sir'*• oscph Wia.rd were Sir Ad't'li/iir Gfiiin-iiess, Messrs L. M. Isitt, G. W.ißiussell, T. H. Davey, H. G. EM and George Witity. "Will the conference be continued thjis afternoon?" he was asked. "There was- no conference," he replied, aaid "I can't say what I will be doing, this afternoon>.
