(United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.)

WOMAN AND BOY SHOT HUSBAND DISTRACTED WITH GRIEF. (Received Last Night, 9.20 o'clock.) SYDNEY, January 3. An investigation failed to eludicate the mystery of the tragedy at Oas-i-no, where a man returned home to find hi si wife and step-brother dead. The victims wane Mrs Perkins, a young woman, and Bertie Cilmore, the husband's step-Ibrother. The scene of the tragedy was a arnaM cottage on the outskirts of the town. Perkins-, who i® a hunter by trade, left home in. the afternoon-. On returning he heard two reports, and on nunning into- the cottage found his wife lying on a couch dead. A four months' old infant was crying on. her breast.

The step-brother was lying on the floor, also dead. Distracted waith grief, Perkins ran lout shouting: "My poor wife is dead!"

A theory, which is difficult to justify,, is that the hoy was playing with a gun and accidentally shot the woman. He was then terrified and committed sulicide.

The two gains which were used both belonged) to PerMms.
