BERIBERI
SICKNESS ABOARD A BARQUE. (Received Decemiber 27, 10.25 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 27. The Norwegian barquentine Oberon has been towed into Newcastle. The sickness aboard has been found to be Beriberi. The sufferers have been removed to the hospital.
(The Oberon, bound from Peru to Newcastle, signalled off Cape Hawke on Christmas Day titoait all the crew were ill, and a mate and a sailor had died during tlhe voyage.)
