INTER-STATE MATCH. NEW SOUTH WALES v. VICTORIA (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, December 26. In their match against New South Whiles, the Victorians.were dismissed in their first innings for 166. Armstrong made 51, Matthews 16, Hartkoff (not out) 42, Kyle 17, and Carkeek 21. The first four wickets fell for one run. Cotter took four .wickets for 38 runs, Mai-cartaiey 3 for 68, and Kclleway 3 for 42. (Received Last Night, 9.30 o'clock.) SYDNEY, December 26. New South Wales completed their first innings for 341 runs, S. j0... Emery 43, W. Bardsley 34, C. Kelleway 101, V. Trunraper 58, S. E. Gregory 39 and Barbour 27 being the chief Bcorers. Bardsley retired hurt, a fast ball of Armstrong's striking his side arid tearing away the cartilage from the lower rib. He will be unable to play further in the present match, and probably not in the Second lest, which starts on Friday, next.

The annual match between representatives of Si\ Mark's (Wellington) and St. Matthew's (Masterton) clubs was played on the Park Oval yesterday, 'and resulted in a win for St. Mark's by 56 runs. The visitors' first attempt realised 66 runs, V. Harris playing ;■ nice innings for 31. G. Harris (12) was the. only other player tb reach double . Agrafes: -„SHv , 'ful^^ five runs. St. Mark's opened their second attempt very badly, losing the fingt four wiickete for 11 runs. V. Harris (and Prain became associated, however, and the next wicket fefll after 39 runs had been added. The innings closed fotr 75. Praan (24 not out) played a steady game, while V. Harris (23) also played good cricket. Perry again accounted for six wickets.
Facing a score of 94 runs to win,, 9b. iMatibhew's started the apparently hopeless task, which was made a, certainty 'when the first four wickets fell for five runis, Styles being very foolishly nun out by Perry.
