AN ABSURD CONCLUSION.
The "New""!£ealand Time's" seeks to show, that, because the Ministerial candidates in tdie general! election secured a greater number of votes- in the aggregate tibaii'N&e Opposition candidates, the ■ latter cannot claim to have the support oiTtihe country. The '"Times'? conveniently omits to take notice of tin© fact that, in a number of the electorates, there were no Opposition, candidates. It also forgets to mentilm that, in the aggregate, there were a greater nun> beir of votes recorded against Minisl- - candidates than for and that in. those electorates' where there was a contest between represeintar tives of Mr Massey and Sir Joseph Ward, the former had overwhelming majorities. No juggling with figures can disprove the fact that the country has- declared emphatically against the Continuous' Stizustiry.
