THE MAORI ELECTIONS.
TQie Maori elections have gone a very .short journey tow»aixls. improving, titoe position of the Ward Adm/Miatratiion. At the best, they leave tine ialli manubers three below those ,of the Reform Party. There are, so fair, no indications of a desire oiii the part of either the Independent or. Labour members to help the Government ouit of its position. On the Vbih/hraxy, everything points to the conclusion, tlhat the majority are anxious that Mr Massey -sJliouikl' be permitted to foran a Gaoiuiet and bring dowoi a policy. The attitude of Sir Joseph "VVlaa-dJ, who is reported to be making determined efforts to ''nobble" the Labourites, will) be awaited with interest.
