BOXING.
TO-NIGHT'S TOURNAMENT.
Visitors and local sportsmen are reminded of the important professional and amateur Doxing contests which will be held this evening at the Town Ball, Masterton, when . "Denny" Murphy and Archie Leckie mii contest fifteen rounds' for a purse of £SO and the welter weight championship of New Zealand. This bout should be a particularly good one, since there is very little to choose between the contestants, althtough. their respective styles of boxing are somewhat different: Leckie is recognised as one of the hardest hitrters in> the lighter brigade, Whilst Murphy relies his clever footr work and rather fiaster fighting.' The JoplansOltseiQi comihat is being looked forward to with, a great amount of', interest, since' the local lad is very well. Kuitner may oe depended upon to do hi& utmost to fetraeve the honours" lost in. his last match with Barr at Wellington, and Oadiwallader .As boxing far better than when he last appeared' in- public,- and should give Stmifth am. anxibus tame. The doors will be opened at 7.30 p.cm. sharp. Ringside seats' only will be resieiwed.
