TIMARU WOOL SALES

TIMARU, Last Night. The second wool sale to-day was attended by a record number of buyers, for Tfomaru. The number of bales offered was 7(500, compared; with 10,000 for the second sales last year. The wool was of better quality than at the first sale, and there was keen competition. Nearly every lot sold at prices -satisfactory &o the vendors. The bulk was cross.bred wool, suitable for Yorkshire, mills. Mfost of tho' best half bred was bought by colonial mills at IOJd to The latter was the tofp price at tihe sale. Medium hallfbred made 9Jd to inferior, 83d to 9jd. Compared with tho Christchurch sale, prices' were slightly higher for .the best classes! of wool.
