Bates, of the Meteorological Office this evening issued the following summary and forecast:— The weather lias'been- warm and humid in the north, with mist and drizzling rain in the Auckland Prov'moe, and sfotoweroi in Southland- and oilier* parts.' A tlnuiderstorm is reported. in the South this afternooni. The barometer has been unsteady and: moderate to ; strong westerly winds have piMjominated l . Present indications are foot* warm, hazy and unsettled weather, threat-, eniaig cicatrical) disturbances, generally, variable winds moderate to strong wesiterlies prevailing noritlih ward of East Oape, Taupo and New Plymouth, and southerly and southeasterly winds elsewhere. The barometer is very wnisteadv, and the conditions about East Oape are somewhat threatening far the East Coasit and North Islanid. The present state of affairs is critical and cliaiugeable.
