WAIRARAPA HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

ORMNAKY MEETING. The ordinary meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital ami Charitable Aid Board was held on Wednesday, there being present : Messrs E. G. Eton (Chairman), W. Fisher, W. Moore, R. B. Robertson, G. F. Bennett, Murray Jackson, A. J. Spoedv, R. F. Beetiham, Hugh Morrison, F. W. H. Rummer,, .T. C. Ewington, and S. Bolton. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs W. W. McCardle and A. I). jVtcLeod. The Treasurer reported a balance from the october meeting of £2490 17s (kl; and receipts for the period amounted to £2757 13s 2d; and tihere was a credit at date of £2150 18s lid. The distribution of balance was as follows: Ordinary maintenance account, £612 18s I 7d ; capital fund account, £1329 9s Gel: U Martinborough ambulance fund ac- . count. £192 10s ;10d; St. John Ambulance, Masterton, £l6. The Assistant Inspector of Hospitals notified his intention of visiting I the Pahiatna Hospital. Authority was given the Masterton Hospital Committee to expend a sum of money in replacing the verandah screen with glass. The report of the mooting of the Finance Committee was read and adopted, with the exception of a reference to the clerk of works. ' It was decided that the clerk of works at Greytown be paid time and a half for the overtime worked by him. ■ The reports from the various Committees were received and adopted. Accounts amounting to £731 17s 2d were passed for payment. It was reported that the statement of receipts and expenditure and return of patients in the various hospitals in the district were as follow: — .Master,ton Hospital: Receipts from April Ist to Nov. 30th, £1977 l7s 9d; expenditure, £1632 3s 4d; patients in hospital on March 31st. 25, admitted since, 167, discharged 15-1, died; 10 ; in hospital on November 30th; 1 28; collective days' stay, 5206 ; average daily cost per head, 6s 6d. Pahiatua Hospital : Receipts from March 31st to Nov. 30th, £1137 7s ; expenditure, £827 13s 7d ; patients in hospital on March 31st, 6 ; admitted since, 85 ; discharged, 87 ; died, 4 ; in hospital on November 30th, 3; total collective days' stay 1517; average daily cost on total expenditure, 10s Bid; average daily cost on non-recurrent expenditure, 8s . South Wairarapa Hospital: Receipts from Octol>er Ist to November 30th, £B6O 17s lid; expenditure £859 10s; patients in hospital on April Ist, 5; admitted since. 60; discharged, 50; I died 6; in hospital on November 30th. 9; collective days' stay, 1957 , average daily cost, 8s 9d.
