1500 MILES IN SIX DAYS ON A MOTOR CYCLE. Some wonderful rides have been accomplihed on. the modern motor cycle, 'but no performance lias ever been recorded in the colonies' of long distance endurance riding that can compare, with Mr Dehdy'.s recent performance. On Monday, the 20th November last, Mr Dendy, a Oaniterbuiry motor cyclist, started' out on.his record run to cover 1500 male® in. six days, and the maximum riding time in each! day not to exceed 12 hours. The route chosen was from Ohristchurch. to InivercargiUl. Excitement grew very intense when it was made known that Dendy had covered 1110 mites up till 8 a~m. on Friday night, and it was argued by weH'*knowni critics that to complete the 1500 miles on Saturday's run. of twelve hours would mean that Dendy had' to nide 390 miles at an average speed' of 32 miles an hou/r, a seemingly Snnpossibflte task, over mountains, tussock roads,' and through river beds and water races. It m cniljy first class material arnd workmanship that can come through tests like .these with flying colours, and just as the clock was etriikaaig eight, dead on time,' and in the presence of thousand's of spectators, Dendy aa-rivedi, tired, weary, and his great nide without one mechanical stop or adjustment, *he onfly trouble experienced heing one punic-t-ure. Dendy rode a 1011 model 3J h.p. Premier, motor cyole. t Immediate delivery cap-he givm. <*J these djamouis. nia<3iito€B. u&tfp stocks to chbose from. TOURIST MOTOR CO., Ltd., HASTINGS'.
