MESSAGE FROM THE SEA
"CASE OF GOOD-BYE."

BRISBANE, December 13! A bottle was- picked up near Mackay, containing a note which read: —"Ylonga'k., terrible storm, 8.30 post meridian.. It's a case erf goodbye. Signed J. West, C. Cook." West was the chief cook of the Yongala, and it is supposed tihat the letter O stands for chief.
