PALMERSTON N., Last Night.
The recount of the votes in connection with the Palmerston seat was finished at.s*3o p.m. to-day. It leaves matters as t'hey were, and there wiltbe no second'ballot.
THE CHALMERS SEAT
(By Telegraph, — Press Association.)
DUNEDIN, Last Night.
The official recount.of .the votes recorded in the Chalmers election gives the following figures:—Clarke (M) 2842; Jonhston (IL) 1474; Dickson (O), 1375; McCarthy (Lab), 576. Thirteen absentee votes have still to come'. On election" night 80 Votes at one booth were wrongly credited to McCarthy which should have been counted for Johnston. The second ballot will therefore >o between Messrs Clark and Johnson.
