PUBLIC MEETING
UNDER AUSPICES WAIRARAPA PRESBYTERY.
On Tuesday next an important event'will take place in Masterton,. when the inaugural meeting of the Wairarapa Presbytery will be held in.? Knox pliurch. The proceedings will commence with a. luncheon at one o'clock at the Arcadia tea rooms, at. which the visiting ministers, locai ministers and their wives are invited. Short addresses of welcome will be made by the local ministers, after which the Presbytery will hold it« initial meeting at two o'clock. At four o'clock a garden party will be given at the residence of Mrs H. T. Wood. During the afternoon .a. photograph of the original ministers of the Masterton Presbyterian Church will be taken.. Amongst those who are present-will bo the Rev. John Ross, who was resident in this parish some 44 years ago. In the evening a big publio meeting will be held in Knox Church at half past seven, at which addresses will be given by the Rev P. B. Fraser, M.A., Superintendent of Home Missions for the ■(Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, his subject being the history and doctrine of the Presbyterian Church; Rev. John Ross, on early days in the Wairarapa; Rev. G. K. Stowell, on Presbyterian Church and Mission; and Rev. L. Thompson, M.A., on "What We Owe to the Presbyteria7i Church."
