STRONGLY CONDEMNED

SYDNEY, December 6. At the inquiry Avith regard to increased rents in Sydney, a witness said that "the Irish landlords •were saints compared with the Sydney landlords. He knew small places where rentswere doubled, and tenants were com<pellcd to submit because it was impossible to do tetter elsewhere.
