SPIRITED BIDDING
(Reeived December-6, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON.December, 5. There was spirited bidding at ■ the wool sales. Germa,n buyers were active. For best merinos there was an American demand. Prices are hardening for crossbreds.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., have received the following cablegram /from London, under date 1 December. 4th '-—"The 'sales progress with keen competition from a large attendance. Americans are operating moderately. The market is very firm, | ajid prospects are good. As compared with the close of last series, merinos l; —fin» r , —show an. advance of from par to 5 r per cent."
