"A VILLAINOUS LIE"
OVER THE MASTERTON REPORT.

FEILDING. Last Night. Mr Trewin, one of the adjudicators of the Masterton pictorial advertisement re No-License, to-day received the following'telegram: "Greymouth, December 4th.—Trewin, barrister, Eeilding.—Trade publish you were paid for report. Is everything in import incontrovertible ?—Scrivener." Mr - Treiyin. sent the following leply: —"Statement made by Trade that paid for report is villainous lie. Report is absolutely incontrovertible. Obtain names those responsible for report that I may take proceedings."
