In the Ching murder eruso, Detective Head stated that Dooley Kha.n, when asked about Silva's statement of tJhe shooting, replied that he was at a neighbour's at the time the shooting took place. Butler also denied any knowledge »f a conspiracy to kill the family. Chang, the father of the murdered children, in his evidence, denied any suggestion of marriage between the Hindoo and accused and his children.
