THE BOTTLE PHOTOGRAPH.
[To The Editor.]
•Sir, — I read in your issue of ye>. j terday the report of the two gentlemen, "from. Fealding who investigated the McManaway-Ha.m.mond No-dlicerosie •argument, itn which they publish that they suspected! that tlie photograph of my yard containing empty bottles was.taken before' No-license. Now,, Sir, for a 'start, I dtepend upon my living on eoil'lecting and selling bottles, and I therefore cannot afford to pile aip /bottles 'and' keep them in my yard for nearly three years, in. order to ma.ke.them Took impressive; and secondly, there are photographed dm that photograph some of my dhildren, one of whom was not even born: at the time No-license came into force. I may say these two gentftemen, called at my little yard, aaidi although I was there, made no inquiries of me, ■simply (had! a look, and left. I make a good-living out of the collection of botflies, tin' Mastertcn, and I am only one of a number who do so, and it is .immaterial! to iine whether these gentlemen, think one way or the other, hut .1 do object to toeing made out ddisihonest and accused of misrepresentation in .tihe matter. Now, in> conclusion, if it is any liirflprmatiion to your readers, I may say that not omly were the number of bottles' photographed in that photo collectedl in. Masteiton, tout .many thousands of dozens besides.— I am, etc.
