EVIDENCE ATTHE INQUEST

FINGER PRINT OX THE ENVELOPE.

(Received Last Night, 9.15 o'clock.)

SYDNEY, Novembw 30.

At the inquest concerning the murder of a man named Travascus it Glel>e, the evidence was largely reeapitulatory. Miss Levey, employed in the same building that Trevascus lived, identified Moir as the man who called on the morning of the murder. She went upstairs to see Thevaseus after hearing a heavy thud like somewhat falling. Moir came twice and borrowed paper from iher. He appeared excited and trembling. Detective Walker deposed that after 'his arrest Moir admitted writing the letter found, in Trevascus's room, and •added that lie was sorry, and thai his mother would not live through it. He knew the detectives wanted him, and he could have got away, hue he decidto face it.

Another witness, .whose house is at Emu Plains, where Moir stayed, stated that he missed the plough coulter after Moir bad gone. Evidence was given that Trevascus drew £SO from the bank on October 30th.

Inspector Childs, of the finger wrin.t branch, gave evidence to the effect that the bloody fingerprint on the envelope posted on Trevascus's door, stating that he had gome away, was identical to'Moir's left index fisger. Tho inquest has been adjourned.
