AN ELECTION PETITION
TO b£ heard at pahiatua.
An. election case is to be heard this morning, at Pahiatua, before Mr L. G. Rcm, % S.M., in which the County Gbuncl election for the Mangahao Riding is being disputed on the ground that certain voter® are alleged to have voted who are not on the roll, and certain other voters are aJleged to have been illegally placed upon, the roM. The difference between the elected and the defeated candidate was only four votes. The petition has been lodged by 'the defeated candidate and ten other electors, and a Barge number of witnesses have been subpoenaed. The case m expected to 'ast some tiane. Mr P. L. HiollJings is appearing for i/Be petitioner, and Mir (*. Harold Smith for the respondents.
