If there were no other good reason wihy the country should' rebel against <t)he Continuous Ministry, sufficient reason is to be found in the wicked extravagance of the Government in maintaining' as a part of the- Constitution, a legislative Ctiamber which" bias beeom&p'bsO-ltete, and oft' account of the systemi uridei-'Miich are., made." Is there a man or a woman.im . ihe . Dominion who has the temerity to assert that the- Legislative Council) is an effective Chamiber ? Is lh<ece one who can comtmiend the composition of the Council, or who can regard it as other than, an expensive excrescence ? Is tiheire necessity, at all- for this home for the political' weary ? If there is, let the Prime Minister state what that necessity he. The very contemplation of what is going to happen if the Continuous Ministry is giveni an extended term of office should icauise electors to pause and think.
