AN EMPHATIC DENIAL

Mr Champ Clark denies that he cvrr really favoured the annexation of Canada. He would bo the first to vote against such a project-, - if it were offered to the United States.
It was -the most preposterous canard ever put in type since Gutemburg vented printing. Ho frequently expressed the hope that the two countries would unite in a mutual agreement, but lie never for a moment thought of forcible annexation.
